INGREDIENTS
240g hemp seeds
1 litre spring water
2 tbsp apple cider
1/4 tsp pink salt
METHOD
In a blender, blend hemp seeds with spring water
Strain in a muslin cloth
Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring to boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir often with. The milk will curdle into lumps.
Remove the pan from the heat and mix well. Add a spoonful of cider vinegar and a salt. Stir. Leave to rest until cooled.
Pour all the curdled milk into a muslin cloth and squeeze the gauze well to eliminate the remaining liquid. pass the whey into a tofu press or mould and leave for a few hours to dry. Press to give it the desired shape.
season and cook as desired :)
Thank you for this recipe. I am intolerant to most plant based proteins so find vegetarian meals let alone vegan meals difficult to tolerate. But I can have hemp & you have just given me another way to eat it.
