This ones a powerful one. Known as the super grain of the future quinoa is rich in fibre, minerals, antioxidants and all nine essential amino acids. A great start to the day to give you that nutrition feel good feeling.
RECIPE
1 cup of quinoa
2 cups water
2 1/2 cups of plant milk
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
Fresh fruit
METHOD
Rinse quinoa under running water
In a pot place quinoa and water and bring to the boil
Reduce heat and cook for 10 mins until soft
In a blender add cooked quinoa with plant milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and blend until smooth (adding more milk if needed)
Serve in a bowl and top with fresh raspberries, mixed seeds and a drizzle of maple

QUINOA HISTORY
Quinoa (pronounced keen - wah) is an ancient grain that has been used for it wonderous nutritional properties for over 5000 years. A sacred crop to the Incas who called it the mother of grains or chisaya mama. The legend states that the emperor would ceremoniously plant the first quinoa seed every year.
